Abstract:

This paper addresses the practical considerations of hydraulic design of a bridge under movable bed conditions. Hydraulic design tasks include pier and abutment scour calculations, design of erosion protection, and sizing of the bridge opening to avoid overtopping or adverse backwater conditions.
