Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Estuarine and Coastal Modeling

Abstract:

A eutrophication model comprised of twenty-two state variables including three algal groups and multiple species of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and silica is described. Equations governing algae, a single nutrient, and primary production for a simplified system are presented and solved analytically. Characteristics of the simplified system are used to guide calibration of the complete model.
