Abstract:

This paper describes the development and use of a tool to link textual databases to road network-based interactive graphics. Advantages of the system are discussed. The GRREATdB program allows the use of DBASE III/III+ databases and files providing a cost-effective tool that links the two technologies of database management and interactive graphics. The program requires that a coordinate system and a method for attaching the data to the network be added. This can be done within the GRREAT program. Once converted the files can still be used directly within the original database program so that standard text reports can still be generated.
