Abstract:

Previously, NETSIM (NETwork SIMulation model) was the only available simulation model that could investigate a wide mix of traffic control and traffic management strategies for a network of intersections including the option to process special traffic events (short term and long term lane blockage). Now, ARTWORK (ARTerial WORK zone model), a computer based microscopic simulation model, can be used to evaluate traffic control performance at an arterial street lane closure.
