Abstract:

This paper develops a simulation model, based on actual field data, that simulates the minor street left turn movement at a STOP-controlled T-intersection. This simulation model predicts average delay to minor street left-turning vehicles in seconds. It also calculates the maximum queue length and average queue length of minor street left-turning vehicles in vehicle lengths. The simulation model was developed using IBM's General Purpose Simulation System (GPSS) simulation language.
