Abstract:

The Hueco Bolson Recharge Project in El Paso, Texas, is a unique recharge system, being a full-scale program in operation for 5 years in which municipal sewage is treated to potable quality at the Fred Hervey Water Reclamation Plant, and injected directly into a major drinking water aquifer, the Hueco Bolson. This paper discusses the ongoing monitoring plan and the specific goals of the plan to advance the state-of-the-art of groundwater recharge techniques.
