Abstract:

The United States of America as a nation faces a major challenge in improving its entire educational systems, especially education in mathematics, science, and engineering. Our future in this technologically competitive-world rests on young people now in our elementary, middle, and high schools and in our universities. Members of technical and professional societies can relate to the general public in positive ways by working with the schools to enhance the education of our young people.
