Abstract:

An approach to discuss the difference between reliability of base-isolated buildings and that of non base-isolated buildings is presented. The fragility analysis method in PRA procedure established before for nuclear power plants is used to quantitatively examine the difference. Several factors representing uncertainty and randomness are examined and compared. Using these factors, several parametric study are undergoing to make clear the bound that is superior to the other with respect to seismic reliability.
