Abstract:

This paper presents an application of a seismic PRA procedure to an apartment building, which also contains an electric substation for the surrounding area. In this procedure, as presented in the previous parts of our study, the seismic hazard is evaluated on the bed rock, the SSI effect is taken into consideration in the fragility analysis, and all analyses are performed on a response spectrum basis. Furthermore, the functional safety of the substation as well as the structural safety of the building are analyzed. In short, this study shows the applicability of the procedure to this type of building instead of to NPP facilities.
