The paper outlines a Bayesian technique to update predictions of pile driving and axial pile capacity on the basis of pile driving records. The approach enables one to systematically account for and combine objective information and subjective judgement. The updated values then represent best estimates. The methodology and an example calculation are described. Recommendations for improvements are suggested.
