Reliability of Bridges in Turbulent Wind

Abstract:

The present study investigates the stability of bridge motion by means of almost sure or sample stability criteria. An asymptotically exact approximation for the top Lyapunov exponent is used in the analysis. Based on this stability criterion the randomness of environmental and structural parameters is taken into account. Reliability of the bridge model is investigated in terms of flutter type stochastic stability.
