Abstract:
Development of the Illinois Geographic Information System (GIS) from 1983 to the present is described including the hardware configuration and ARC/INFO software. The database design at scales of 1:62,500 and 1:500,000 is described including particular attention to the hydrographic database. Several applications of the GIS are described from siting to hydrologic modeling.
