Abstract:

The Task Committee on Water Resources Education and Training (TCWRE) was organized in 1985 for the purpose of conducting an opinion survey to assess the adequacy of current education and training programs in the field of water resources engineering. The TCWRE was also specifically charged with identifying trends and areas of emphasis for the future. This paper highlights the responses of professionals who identified themselves as educators and practitioners in the field of irrigation and drainage (ID). The complete task committee report has been accepted for publishing in the Journal of Water Resources Planning and Management. Survey development, responses and analysis are discussed.
