Abstract:

Salinity is a major constraint to crop production in many irrigated lands of the world. Management practices are needed for the control of soil and water salinity. The development of appropriate control practices requires relevant knowledge. This paper presents the principle salinity effects on processes affecting soils and plants that should be understood to develop practices to control salinity in irrigated lands.
