Global Risk Assessment: A Naive Look at Initiating Processes

by Michael H. Tiller, Tiller Consulting Group Inc, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Environmental Engineering

Abstract:

Global risk assessment is finding those initiating processes which may cause harm to Earth systems (and ultimately the human species), their probability of occurrence, and the level of damage Earth systems would endure. An initiating process is any perturbation to the Earth system which may require intervention to bring back to normal. This paper literally presents a global risk assessment hierarchy, and figuratively suggest a more global approach to the environmental engineer's risk assessment projects.
