Abstract:

The author presents here an algorithm developed in Pascal for an integrated two and a half dimensional CAD/CAM system. The geometry and the tool paths are defined simultaneously, thereby eliminating the need for a CAD, and a CAM program. The algorithm allows the user to generate pseudo geometry on the screen. The order in which the entities are drawn is the order in which they will be machined. The pseudo geometry is actually the tool path. The algorithm is totally interactive, with a graphical interface, minimizing the use of the keyboard.
