Abstract:
It is apparent from the literature, as well as discussions with faculty at other colleges of engineering, that the topics of freshman engineering design and computation are being dealt with in a superficial manner. We argue that such courses are technologically and academically inappropriate, and only obfuscate and perpetuate the real pedagogical issues.
