Abstract:

This paper will trace the history of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE), describe CASE tools at each stage of the software engineering evolution, and discuss the future and trend of CASE tools in the software development environment. CASE's implications for integrating and automating any work environment will be emphasized.
