Abstract:

Jet Grouting as a new tool for underpinning and excavation support is presented, describing the systems of Jet Grouting and its advantages over conventional underpinning techniques. A brief discussion is presented to describe the equipment components necessary and in which ground conditions Jet Grouting can be applied. A case history in New Haven is presented describing the engineering, construction, and quality control aspects of a highly successful project, which demonstrated the advantages of Jet Grouting over conventional underpinning for this site.
