Document Type: Proceeding Paper
Part of: Seismic Engineering: Research and Practice
Abstract:
The feasibility of reducing hydrodynamic effects in the earthquake response of concrete dams by anchoring gas-filled balloons or injecting bubbles in the water is investigated. Significant benefits appear possible, but considerable effort would be required to obtain them.
