Abstract:

Recordings were made of the response of a PC cable-stayed bridge during erection and the wind velocity at erection site. These recordings were analyzed to provide estimates of the characteristics of strong natural wind at erection site and of the frequency, damping ratio and mode shape of the bridge during erection. These results were compared with the values estimated by the wind tunnel test conducted prior to the construction.
