Energy Approach of Earthquake-Structural Design Analysis

A new procedure developed from the earthquake energy concepts is presented in this paper. A short-squat building and a long-slender building are analyzed using the presented procedure. The analyzed results can explain the severe damage of the Sept. 19, 1985 Mexican earthquake.
