Abstract:

Angle struts are being used extensively as web members of trusses, bracings of buildings, and they are widely used as main members in transmission and lattice towers. Because of their growing importance in structural applications, interest in the study of the load-carrying characteristics of these angle sections has drastically increased in recent years. The intent of this study is to shed light on the subject by providing a numerical database on the behavior of asymmetric angle sections with the aim of recommending design interaction equations for these members.
