Abstract:

This paper presents an automated approach for the evaluation of the axial load capacity of nine cold-formed steel sections according to the latest AISI-1986 Cold-Formed Steel Specification. Two computer programs are developed, mainly for educational purposes, and implemented on microcomputers. Graphics and a positive user interface were emphasized.
