Abstract:

This paper outlines specific procedures for determining loads on transmission line structure systems that can be used in the reliability based design or assessment of components of these systems. Emphasis is given to climatic loads, such as wind loads and combined wind and ice loads, which are random events that can be described statistically. These procedures are based on criteria given in the latest version of a guide for transmission line structural loading.
