Abstract:

ASCE Manual 55, ASCE Guide to Employment Conditions for Civil Engineers, provides a guide to a mutually satisfying relationship between the employer and the professional employee, and to attract and retain highly capable people in the profession. Sections 1 and 2 consist of current guidelines regarding professional employment conditions and grade descriptions while sections 3 and 4 provide recommendations on compensation and benefits. Appendixes contain the history of the development of these guidelines and a list of references.
