Abstract:
Because motor vehicle traffic is expected to continue to grow, renewed efforts will be required to prevent the problem of motor vehicle crash deaths and injuries growing much larger than it is today. If we are to make progress in preventing deaths and injuries in the future, we must begin to consider some of the changes that will affect the safety of motor vehicle travel. This paper discusses basic strategies in planning for improved highway safety.
