Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Highway Safety: At the Crossroads

Abstract:

Constraints on time and resources influences the public sector as strongly as our personal lives. Experience teaches us that our desires must be tempered with hard realities. Finite resources require that even life extending and life saving efforts must be approached with efficiency criteria in mind. A survey of longevity for longevity trades is used to introduce the concept of choosing among alternative life extending programs.
