Objectives of a Space Station

by Jean-Paul Davis, Honeywell, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Engineering, Construction, and Operations in Space

Abstract:

A space station provides the next step in expanding human frontiers. The space station will produce certain short-term benefits as well as create a space infrastructure. Manned exploration of the solar system becomes easier with the use of a large space infrastructure around Earth. Conflicting opinions slow down progress on a space station. This paper discusses discernible reasons which justify a costly space station.
