Abstract:

The semi-continuum method is used for Monte Carlo simulation of a large number of bridges. It is confirmed that the mean values of responses can be obtained deterministically, and their coefficients of variation (COV) are shown to depend upon the bridge parameters, the number of girders and the COV value of the modulus of elasticity, E.
