Effects of Random Material Properties and Loads

by Stuart G. Reid, Univ of Sydney, Sydney, Australia,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Probabilistic Methods in Civil Engineering

Abstract:

The variability of slab deflections is estimated from analytical expressions accounting for random variations of spatially distributed loads and material properties (stiffness parameters). The results are sensitive to the 'scales of fluctuations' of the random variables.
