Abstract:

Bec Freres S. A. , a French dam contractor, introduced the technique of roller compacted concrete (RCC) into France. The first two French RCC dams were built as a result of a program of research and innovation in which Bec has worked as partners with owners and design consultants. The experience gained is described through the construction of the dams at St. Martin de Londres and les Olivettes in Southern France.
