Abstract:

The marketing of power in the Pacific Northwest is a process intimately tied to the management of the Columbia River system. This paper describes the characteristics of the river and transmission system, the utilities and agencies which operate power producing facilities in the region and, using the Bonneville Power Administration as its example, the factors leading to and influencing short-term marketing decisions.
