Abstract:

The Fourth Edition of the SSRC Guide presents a state-of-the-art information on beam-columns for use by specification writers, researchers, and designers. The present paper is an extremely brief outline of the contents of Chapter 8 of the Guide on this topic. The reader must refer to the actual Guide in order to have a direct access to all of the useful formulas, curves, tables, and the list of pertinent references on beam-columns. 11 refs.
