Abstract:

Each of the papers in this book covers some aspect of material properties. New developments in cold formed steel are reviewed. The strength, stiffness, and ductility of steel connections are discussed. Various aspects of fatigue and fracture that are covered include reliability assurance and verification, and fatigue and fracture of structural members and reinforcing steel. Papers on concrete include discussions on innovative material for concrete structures, design of reinforcement for concrete shells, and developments in concrete thin shells. Several papers are devoted to discussion of the fourth edition of the SSRC (Structural Stability Research Council) Guide. Other topics include application of load resistant factor design, practical applications for considerations of P-Delta moments, practical system reliability concepts, and ice-structure interactions.
