Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Materials and Member Behavior

Abstract:

Recent advances and experimental research on the behavior of composite semi-rigid frames indicates that substantial savings can be achieved with this method of construction. The current state-of-the-art is reviewed, and results of four full-scale tests described. The tests show that semi-rigid composite frames have excellent strength, ductility, and energy dissipation characteristics.
