Part of: Engineering Hydrology

Abstract:

The paper discusses how tedious computations involved in flow routing can be easily implemented on Personal Computers. Parameter estimation and routing calculations for both linear and non-linear models can be performed with ease and speed with the commonly available PC softwares. Lotus 1-2-3 and 'TK Solver' are used in this study. Many other softwares are also commercially available for spreadsheet calculations, solving non-linear equations and Linear Programming problems. Graphing capability in PC's is of particular advantage for producing storage and flow plots.
