Abstract:

This paper discusses principles of methodology and application of agricultural water management prognostics. Included are irrigation and drainage prognostics in Hungary and concrete economic possibilities and necessities that may serve as a basis for the development of agricultural water management. Among the conclusions are the possibilities of a reduction of the water use of irrigation, a more reasonable utilisation of water reserves and the controlling of harmful excess water.
