Abstract:

A generalized analysis of lake sedimentation rates in Illinois provides a representative 'window' on sedimentation rates of midwestern lakes located in humid areas with highly erodible but productive agricultural watersheds. Analyses of the historical variability in sedimentation of two Illinois lakes, Lake Decatur and Lake Springfield, are presented to illustrate the sedimentation patterns of two medium-sized lakes in the midwest.
