Abstract:

The collection of accurate and meaningful field data is often the key to successful description and prediction of natural processes. The U. S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station (WES) is conducting research which will lead to cost-effective instrumentation and techniques that will provide the ability to observe near-bed flow and sediment parameters. The methods and equipment developed will be designed to eventually supply long-term in situ observations and provide data detailing storm induced activity.
