Abstract:

Pennsylvania Gas and Water Company initiated construction work to upgrade the 90-year old dam in order to meet current dam safety standards with emphasis on satisfying Probable Maximum Flood (PMF) requirements. The modifications included several major individual components. However, the bulk of the remediation, and construction work centered on the construction of the concrete ogee spillway and the side channel spillway chute. A synopsis of the major components of the remediation work and the construction of the new spillway and side channel spillway chute is presented.
