Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Hydraulic Engineering

Abstract:

The primary purpose of this paper is to define the areal distribution of large-scale pressure pulses acting on the containment structure of a hydraulic jump. The results presented are from a 2-year study performed at the St. Anthony Falls Hydraulic Laboratory funded by the National Science Foundation. This information is of interest for dam safety and the design of the containment structures for hydraulic jumps.
