Abstract:

Presented in this paper is a review of the four pronged approach to coastal management utilized by the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government, Louisiana. The management program includes research, public education, preservation and construction activities. Included in this discussion are subsidence, sea level rise and barrier island studies; brochures, billboards and slide presentations; beach nourishment and marsh management projects, and tidal control measures.
