This paper examines the role, attributes, strengths, weaknesses and qualifications of inspectors, and recommends methods of developing an excellent construction inspector. The paper also describes two excellent training programs and one training method being used in the construction industry. The paper emphasizes such training programs as academic education, on-the-job training, and vocational training.
