Abstract:

A design study on the feasibility of utilizing an above-grade landfill for the disposal of hazardous wastes has been completed. This design study comprised three phases of work - a literature review, a design phase, and a permit review study. While further work needs to be completed, the concept of an above-grade landfill meeting all RCRA requirements for the disposal of hazardous waste appears to be quite promising.
