Abstract:

The article describes a modification carried out to overcome overloading of wastewater treatment plant at Memphis. The plant was originally constructed as a contact stabilization activated sludge process. From pilot plant studies the Activated Bio-Filter/activated sludge system was found to be the most appropriate. The implementation of this modification and the results obtained are presented.
