Abstract:

The four papers in this book emphasize the design, testing, and analysis of large structures. The topics covered include base isolation in the design and construction of power plant structures, new techniques in forced vibration testing of dams, design and planned use of a 2-kiloton eccentric mass vibrator for testing a nuclear power plant containment structure, and a frequency domain analysis of a tank-soil system.
