Abstract:

The Paerau Gorge Power Scheme is part of a multipurpose scheme supplying irrigation water and electricity to the Central Otago region of the South Island of New Zealand. This paper describes the scheme from implementation through construction to commissioning together with details of various innovative designs included in the scheme.
