Abstract:

This paper describes 'Road Design V. 1. 0,' a set of horizontal and vertical alignment routines contained in the Apple software library used by the Department of Civil Engineering at The University of New Mexico. The program is user-oriented and menu-driven to enable ease of operation by Sophomore Civil Engineering students with various levels of microcomputer expertise. The software source language is Apple Pascal. The program, which has been used successfully during the last several semesters, supplements routine manual or hand-held calculator solutions to route design problems.
