Abstract:
The finite element code, QUIET, for the simulation of two-dimensional shallow water flow has been adapted from its mainframe form for use on the IBM PC, PC/XT, or AT. The model uses of the wave equation form of the continuity equation and uses isoparametric quadrilateral finite elements. All matrices solved in this explicit code are diagonal. Simulations on the southern part of the North Sea are used to illustrate the model's capability.
